A simple round bowl made from maple but dyed black and lightly textured with a small scale hammered finish. Turned form green wood (as most of mine are) it naturally deformed, although only slightly. Yet one can just see that it shrank slightly across the grain, both in height and width, leaving the "ends" (along the grain) a tiny bit higher. In this way, one can "read" and understand the stresses that occurred in the wood. It's 9" across and 4 3/8" high.
