20-128 WngdBwl OsageRdBrnWng

A recent work in osage orange, partially dyed a reddish brown (modified cochineal dye) for contrast. It sits on 3 feet under the platter portion and could well be used for crackers & dip or to hold business cards in high style. Osage orange is a very dense, hard wood with a high natural luster and color that ranges from yellow to brown, depending on its exposure to ultra violet light. The trees are found most often in hedge rows between farm fields across the country. This wood came from a storm-felled tree on a farm in south central Ohio.
