Hutong condemned

Houses and whole neighborhoods (the Hutongs) were disappearing in Beijing, being cleared for the upcoming Olympics and were marked ominously with the sign for "condemned!" Some, like this one, were in very bad shape. Others were simply in the way of a kind of urban renewal and people were being relocated from the neighborhoods, with new buildings taking their places.
